LGBT+ Staff Network
In 2007, an invitation issued to all staff by the then Equality and Welfare Unit in HR, inviting all staff interested in LGBT issues to a meeting to explore how UCC might best respond to the experiences of LGBT staff in UCC. LGBT+ Staff Network was created. 2017 marked the 10 year anniversary of the Network with a major celebration in the Aula Maxima. In 2019 a parallel workplace Network for Allies: ‘UCC Rainbow Alliance’ was launched. The Rainbow Alliance is for colleagues who wish to demonstrate support for their LGBT+ colleagues (and students) by displaying visible 'Ally' symbols (branded lanyards, window stickers, button pins, posters)
