Mentor Panel
Ronan is Head of Graduate Studies for the College of Business and Law; Director of the Executive MBA programme; and co-director of the Human Resource Research Centre at Cork University Business School, UCC where he lectures various Human Resource Management subjects.
He previously worked at the University of Limerick where he was awarded the University Teaching Excellence award. Ronan's research interests include gig work, learning and development, and talent development. His research has been published in journals such as Human Resource Management Journal, Human Resource Management (US), Journal of Managerial Psychology, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, and International Small Business Journal.
Ronan was awarded UCC Research Supervisor of the Year in 2022 and the College of Business and Law Researcher of the Year award (mid-career) in 2021.
Approach as Mentor
I view mentoring of colleagues as a critically important role of senior academics. I have provided mentorship and guidance to several junior staff within my department over the last 10 years with a focus on critical appraisal and reflection.
Types of Mentoring Offered:
1:1 Mentoring - longer term relationship (1 year plus).
1:1 Mentoring - Short term relationship (6 months or less).
Mentoring Topics Include: Student Engagement, New Programme Development, Innovation in Teaching, Preparing Articles for Publication, Developing an Academic Profile, Grading & Assessing Student Work, Career Development, Academic Leadership.
