Languages for All
German modules
Students from Criminology, Law, Computer Science, Government, Applied Social Studies, International Field Geosciences, MBS IPP and Diplomacy, Public Health, as well as Erasmus / visiting students can take one of the following German language courses as elective modules in the “Languages for All” programme (5 credits each, three contact hours per week):
LfA for Beginners
Semester 1: GE0003 German Language (Beginner Level A 1) Part 1
Semester 2: GE0004 German Language (Beginner Level A1) Part 2

Note: These are German language modules only for beginners. Students who have done Junior or Leaving Certificate German cannot take these modules. The two modules are co-requisites and can only be taken together (only exception: Erasmus/visiting students).
LfA for Non-Beginners
Semester 1: GE0005 German Language (CEFR Level A2.1) Part 1
Semester 2: GE0008 GermanLanguage (CEFR Level A2.2) Part 2

Mon 4-6, ORB G38 (Semester 1+2)
Wed 11-12, ORB 1.23 (Semester 1) / ORB 2.12 (Semester 2)
Note: These are German language modules for students who have done the Leaving Certificate in German (recommended level: H4) or equivalent. German native speakers cannot take this module. The two modules are co-requisites and can only be taken together (only exception: Erasmus/visiting students).
Please note: All times and rooms are provisional and may change.
These modules are offered subject to a minimum number of eight students.
Attendance requirements:
Students must be able to attend all three timetabled hours; if they have a clash with other modules, they cannot take this module.
Please note that students who are absent from more than 20% of the classes may be excluded from the examinations.
