The Cork Midsummer Festival is in full swing, with many multidisciplinary arts events underway. We are delighted to see so many Department of Theatre alumni of past and present programmes creating and presenting work at the festival this year.  

Two research projects based in the School of Film, Music & Theatre / CARPE – Centre for Arts Research and Practice were awarded funding under the UCC Future Humanities Institute Seed-Funding initiative: Tempestries: Textiles, Tactility & the Climate Emergency, led by Professor Jools Gilson (Theatre), and Essaying Democracy in Europe, led by Professor Laura Rascaroli (Film & Screen Media).

Transition year students from across Cork, with a passion for film making met Oscar-winning producer Lord David Puttnam, and a host of film industry experts, at a special event in University College Cork (UCC) on Tuesday May 16th.
