The Seán Ó Riada Memorial Lecture was first initiated by Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin and The Traditional Music Society in 1985. Still an annual event, the series now constitutes a valuable collection of lectures delivered by some of the most eminent speakers, researchers and performers in the word of Irish traditional music.
