To celebrate the Book Launch of Bauhaus Effects in Art, Architecture, and Design, edited by Sabine Kriebel (UCC) and Kathleen James-Chakraborty (UCD), published by Routledge, 2022. The book explores the extensive reception of the Bauhaus in Europe, ranging from Vidal Sassoon haircuts to design in Ireland, from window display to digitality. Extending the multidisciplinary, exploratory spirit of the volume, the event will consist of a Roundtable Discussion with artists, architects, and scholars to explore the resonances of Bauhaus pedagogy and aesthetics in Cork City, and in view of EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s New European Bauhaus sustainability initiative.
