The School of BEES research activities have been mapped to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. 

A range of awards were presented at the recent School of BEES prizegiving event.

Growing horticultural crops under cover is a challenge, especially given current pressures to reliably produce high quality food locally with minimal environmental impact. A research project in UCC has now developed a lighting system that improves the nutritional value of our plant foods.

Thursday 6th October is National Tree Day in Ireland and school visits to the UCC Arboretum were organised by the Tree Explorers project.

A team of 11 palaeontologists from Germany, Italy and UK have discovered new fossil footprints made by dinosaur ancestors at a new fossil site in a quarry in central Germany. 

The LIVE project, led by Fidelma Butler and Pat Meere in the School of BEES, was represented at the 2022 World Ploughing Championships by Clodagh Cahill and Lucy Taylor.

BEES will be open once again for Culture Night this year for an event where people can explore the grand environmental challenges of today.
