A new publication by Dr James Richardson of BEES and colleagues from University of Sao Paulo.

This paper explores how giant pterosaurs grew to be so big. The authors found that giant pterosaurs such as Pteranodon evolved parental care that may have allowed faster/longer growth and ultimately, large adult sizes.

This paper finds evidence of proteins in 125 million-year-old feathers, which show that ancient feathers were much more like modern-day feathers than previously thought.

This paper was led by Dr Shengyu Wang, who completed part of the work on the paper during a research visit to UCC

PhD students Dan Cirtina and Aaron Quigley both came away from the recent PalAss meeting in Cambridge with awards for their presentations.

A range of awards were presented at the recent School of BEES prizegiving event.

Dr Neil Coughlan has been funded for his Azbio project - Sustainable valorisation of agri-food wastewaters.
