Eugene Dempsey
Biography
Eugene is a Consultant Neonatologist in the Cork University Maternity Hospital and Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. He is a University College Cork graduate who undertook specialty training in paediatrics in Ireland before moving to McGill University, Montreal to subspecialty training in Neonatology. His MD is on Hypotension in the Preterm infant and he also has an MSc in Ethics and Law from the RSCI. He is Chief Investigator for the HIP trial (Management of hypotension in the preterm infant), an FP7 funded project investigating the role of dopamine in the treatment of low blood pressure in the extremely preterm infant.
