Cancer Research @UCC

Proceeds from the 2023 Concert ‘A Night on the Plaza’ will go towards supporting Cancer Research @UCC.

Cancer is the biggest killer in Ireland, accounting for approximately 30% of deaths here annually. Our cancer rates were ranked third highest in the world last year. Innovations in cancer diagnostics, therapeutics, and other interventions are urgently needed in the areas of cancer prevention, early detection, and management of recurrent disease.

Cancer Research @UCC works to improve cancer outcomes and save lives through the integration of innovative laboratory-based and patient-focused cancer research, alongside the provision of high-quality cancer research training opportunities. Our team collaborates with cancer researchers across UCC and its affiliated research centres and institutes. By working together, we believe that we can improve outcomes for those at risk of, or living with, cancer both in Ireland and beyond, in line with the National Cancer Strategy 2017 and Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.

The ultimate goal of Cancer Research @UCC is to improve cancer outcomes and significantly impact the quality of life for those living with and beyond cancer in our region.

Ticket sales are facilitated by the Alumni and Development office UCC.
