UCC Hockey Season Gets Underway

The 2026/27 season got off to the perfect start for our Women's 1st Team, who travelled to Waterford last weekend and came away with an impressive 4-0 victory.
The 2026/27 season got off to the perfect start for our Women's 1st Team, who travelled to Waterford last weekend and came away with an impressive 4-0 victory.
Robyn Murphy led the scoring with two goals and was deservedly named Player of the Match. Captain Lauren Cripps and Leah Hayes also found the back of the net to complete an excellent team performance.
The match also marked the first appearances for several new players to both the team and the club, including Kate Collins, Susanna Burke, Katie Toomey, Joy Sampson, and Ruby Lehane. A special mention goes to second-year student Laoise Deasy, who made her Women's 1st Team debut. It was also great to welcome Emily Nolan back after a year away, lining out alongside her sister Susie Nolan.
Division 1 looks set to be highly competitive this season. Catholic Institute, recently relegated from EYHL1, will be aiming for an immediate return to the top tier, while Cork Harlequins will be looking to rebuild and challenge strongly throughout the campaign.

Social Hockey Returns
UCC Hockey hosted its first Social Hockey Hour of the season on Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The session featured a fun blitz format and provided a fantastic start to the new season.
We look forward to seeing plenty of support on the sidelines and wish all of our teams the very best as they begin their league campaigns.
