After a break for Easter, UCC Hockey is back in full swing this weekend with a packed schedule across the club. All teams except the Men’s squad are in action, and several sides face season‑defining matches.
🏆 Women’s 1sts – Promotion Race Reaches Crunch Time
The Women’s 1sts travel to Ards on Saturday for what is effectively a must‑win showdown. With four teams tied on 14–15 points and only two promotion places available, every result now carries huge weight.

UCC face:
- Ards (away) – a direct rival for promotion
- University of Galway – final game, also must‑win
Two victories would put UCC in a strong position to secure a top‑two finish. Avoca play Monkstown at the weekend which will have a major bearing on the standings going into the last weekend.
🏑 Div 2 – Examiner Cup Semi‑Final
The Div 2 team take on C of I Div 1 in the Examiner Cup semi‑final.
This is a rare chance to test themselves against top‑tier opposition and measure their progress against Div 1 standards. A big opportunity for the squad.
🔥 Div 3A & Div 7 – Final League Games + Cup Finals Ahead
Both teams play their final league fixtures this weekend:
Div 3A
- Only one loss all season
- Looking to close out with a final win
- A standout campaign overall, winning the Munster Div 3 League, promotion to Division 2 and winning the Munster Combined 3-4 Cup
- Cup final awaits on 25th April
Div 7
- Sitting comfortably in 3rd place
- Strong improvement throughout the season
- Also preparing for a cup final on 25th April
⚠️ Div 3B – Relegation Battle Continues
Div 3B host Bandon at home on Sunday. Still in the relegation zone, this match is crucial, with one final game after that against Tipperary.
Both fixtures will be decisive in determining whether the team stays up.
