Language Learning at the Glucksman

3 May 2018

At @uccsplas we believe in experimenting with different learning techniques so as to enrich our classes and find new ways for students to better develop their language skills. Our staff is continuosly encouraged to be creative in their approaches to language teaching and to not limit the teaching and learning experience to the class environment. An example of this approach can be seen in an activity held at @ucc's Glucksman Gallery in February 2018. Members of staff Eugenia Bolado and Pedro Nilsson-Fernàndez planned a class around a visit to the exhibition OUTPOSTS: Global borders and national boundaries with two groups of Spanish language learners at B1 level.

Students were presented with the exhibition's abstract in both English and Spanish.

This session was inspired by the project MUSE and its approach to different entry points

visual, kinaesthetic, etc.
