IFiT trans-national partner meeting 2-3 November 2018

The first trans-national meeting of the IFiT project team took place on the 2nd-3rd November 2018. The meeting was hosted by CERES at their center in Arrafana, Aljezur, Portugal. There were 17 participants from the four partner institutions in attendance.

Schedule Day One: The meeting was to start with a investigative trip to potential sites near Vale da Telha/ Ponte d’Atalia investigating land and rock formations and later onto the the beach of Monte Clerigo, Aljezur. The formal part of the meeting day concentrated on project summary, formalities, timelines and suggested learning outcomes of the programme.

Schedule Day Two: Administrative issues in relation to dates and information management to be discussed as well as potential project topics, site and participant selection. A site visit was to be taken in the afternoon to the CERES Base Camp site with Axel giving a talk on the site as well as background to Eucalyptus and Cork production in the Algarve.  The group then was to visit  Castelo de Aljezur overlooking two further potential field sites of  the Cerca Velha and the Amoreira Valley.  The day was to end with a visit to the rocky shore at Amoreira.
