Dr Aleksandra Sobańska presents a keynote at the 19th National Sociological Congress

On September 17, Dr Aleksandra Sobańska presented a paper on the EuroBorderWalks project from the perspective of the Polish part of the team.
At Poland’s largest sociological conference, the 19th National Sociological Congress “Risks Tamed? Challenges of the Present Day,” held on September 16–19, 2025, in Białystok, Dr. Aleksandra Sobańska presented a paper titled “The Polish-Ukrainian Border AD 2025 from an Ethno-mimetic Perspective” in the thematic group “G06 Studying Borders and Borderlands.” During the presentation, Dr Sobańska introduced the EuroBorderWalks project, outlining its main assumptions — including research objectives, research questions, expected outcomes, and methodology. She also shared initial reflections from the fieldwork phase, which so far includes 25 narrative or walking interviews, and presented plans for the next stages of the research.
