Research Manager Training

Training Opportunities

Our ambition is to establish the Cardea European Research Manager's Hub (CERMH) as a transnational platform for collaboration, networking, training, knowledge sharing, policy development, and continuous improvement. The Hub will serve the multiple needs of the multiple stakeholders in this multi-disciplinary profession. The purpose of the Hub is to provide a virtual space for stakeholders to come together in the spirit of collaboration, co-creation, and knowledge sharing. It will embrace both

  1. networking and mobility activities as well as
  2. training and development opportunities and
  3. policy development, best practice guidelines and policy dissemination. The latter is of exceptional importance given the current dearth of coherent evidence-based policy for RMs.

More on training and development opportunities available to Research Managers in the ERA will follow.

PATTERN 3rd Mutual Learning Event

The event was organised by the PATTERN project. It focused on four key questions/topics:

  1. Pedagogical Trends in training programs: active learning, two way learning experiences, personalisation of trainings to address the needs of trainers at different career stages
  2. Technological Trends in trainings: new possibilities that emerging technologies and devices offer in online, in-person and blended, and asynchronous trainings. (E.g. gamification, virtual and augmented reality, and micro learning)
  3. Learning Outcomes: What expectations do users have of trainings? What changes does an attentive trainer observe in their students/learners and promote?
  4. Sustainability and Impact: Ways of ensuring effectiveness and relevance of trainings over time, as well as availability of training platforms beyond the life of projects. How can trainings be designed and implemented to maximise long-term sustainability and quality?
