Celebrate Science Week with APC

Science Week is a national celebration of science with hundreds of events for people of all ages taking place across Ireland.
Monday 11th
Join APC Microbiome Ireland researchers Prof Yvonne Nolan, Dr Sarah Nicolas, and Zoe Williams to explore the fascinating connection between the microbes in our gut, brain function and ageing.

Wednesday 13th
Come along to our 'Fermented Food- the good & the bad' presentation with Aidan O’ Sullivan to discover the latest research behind fermented foods and includes a demonstration on how to prepare your own kefir, kombucha and sauerkraut at home. This event is in partnership with Cork City Libraries.

Curious about what happens to the food we eat? Our ‘Food is Funky’ workshop guides students through a series of interactive steps to explore the digestive system and understand the concept of the microbiome.

Our researchers will host a French language workshop exploring scientific concepts through hands-on experiments, delivered in association with Ambassade de France en Irlande.
