Registering as a Student at UCC

Welcome to UCC (University College Cork)

Please note: Before starting the steps as laid out in these instructions, first year undergraduate and first year postgraduate students, who have accepted their UCC offer, must be in receipt of registration emails inviting you to complete registration, and advising you of your IT password.

We know this can be an exciting and daunting time so to help you along the way, we have developed this useful guide to take you through the registration process.

During registration, you will enrol on your degree programme, choose modules (if applicable), provide biographical information, complete fee payment, and access your confirmation of registration.

Registration involves additional steps that we need you to complete. Once these are completed, you will officially be confirmed as a UCC student. Additional steps relevant to your entry route can be found on the Registration webpage.

You may only make an appointment to collect your student ID card on full completion of registration of programme and modules. This ID card will be for the duration of your programme of study and will be validated each year as you progress through your programme.

If you have a question or are unsure of where to start, please check our helpful ASK page. Alternatively, you can submit a query using the registered student web enquiry form or prospective student web enquiry form.

We wish you the best of luck for the upcoming academic year!

Logging into your Student Account, Setting up MFA and Resetting your Password

Secure your UCC Student IT Account (3 parts to Step 1 - see below)

All UCC Students are supplied with a personalised Student IT Account. This Student IT Account grants students access to online UCC Student Services. As a student, you must secure your UCC Student IT Account with Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) before using it to logon to UCC services (unless you have previously completed this as a past student, in which case please jump ahead to Login – MyStudentAdmin Portal section below):

Firstly, watch this important video on setting up MFA and Resetting your Password Guide to MFA & Password Reset for new students - YouTube

Go to https://www.ucc.ie/o365 (using your laptop or computer) and log in with your UCC email address (umail above) and password (this will follow in a second email). If you do not receive your UCC password email within 48 hours, please log this using the prospective student web enquiry form (please check all Folders (Inbox, Junk, Trash, Promotions) for this email before logging this issue).

Once you have logged into your UCC Student Office Account, you will be prompted with instructions to install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device to complete your MFA setup. Please follow the prompted instructions. Please ensure that you do not delete your Microsoft Authenticator App, as you will need this to authenticate future logins.

Once MFA is setup on your UCC Student Account, you will be prompted to reset your password.  If in doubt, watch the video again: Guide to MFA & Password Reset for new students. Going forward only use your newly reset password to login to your UCC account.

If you experience any technical difficulties, you can log a query through IT Services for Students | New Students | Open Access Labs | WiFi | Support or phone (021) 490 2120 option 2.
