Congratulations to Professor Marietta Iacucci, now a member of IOIBD
Professor Iacucci, Professor in Gastroenterology in UCC, has been nominated as a coveted member of the International Organisation for Study of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IOIBD).
Membership of IOIBD is limited to 60 people globally, recognising IBD researchers of the highest calibre worldwide. Professor Iacucci will be the only active member in Ireland.

Professor Iacucci said: "I am really honoured that I have been nominated and accepted by my esteemed peers. I am excited to contribute to new developments in precision diagnostics and therapeutics in IBD".
Our Head of College Professor Helen Whelton congratulated Professor Iacucci on being awarded this hugely prestigious membership of the IOIBD and thanked her for bringing this great honour to University College Cork.
