Outline

This modules aims to teach students about interdisciplinary research and problem solving.

Practicalities

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. Source and familiarise oneself with scientific information on a given topic.
  2. Write a summative literature-based report on the given topic.
  3. Independently perform a selection of experimental procedures pertinent to the area of research of the supervisor.
  4. Independently assess data relating to the area of research of the supervisor.
  5. Produce a written report on the experimental approaches taken and data acquired.
  6. To logically discuss and draw conclusions from data and the skills acquired.
  7. To write a reflective narrative on the value of the transferable skills acquired.

Requirements

To be eligible to apply students must be currently

  1. 1st or 2nd year undergraduate student registered in the School of Nursing and Midwifery
  2. 2nd year undergraduate CUBS registered students

Final decision on all applications rests with programme coordinator.

Students who pass this module may not use the credits accumulated to compensate for a failed module within their degree programme’s prescribed curriculum as this an extracurricular micro-credential
