Applications are invited from all staff for the above Introduction to Project Management programme which takes place in-person in UCC on 20th and 21st October 2026.  There are no options available for online participation.

To participate in this programme, you should have an identifiable work-related project in planning or taking place and provide details of this project below. Please note the size of your project is not important. The identification of a project will help demonstrate how you will be able to practically apply the tools and materials from the training. 
Participants will be required to attend both dates as outlined below. Please indicate on the form whether you wish to apply for Group 1 or Group 2 or whether you are flexible and can attend either group.
Group 1:  Tuesday 20th October 9am – 12pm AND  Wednesday 21st November 2pm – 5pm  (20 places)  
Group 2:  Tuesday 20th October 2pm – 5pm AND  Wednesday 21st November 9am – 12pm  (20 places)  

Venue for both days:   Áird Mhór Meeting Room (Student Centre)

By the end of the course Successfully Planning and Managing Your Project, participants will have:  

  • Learned the basics of the project planning process and receive tools and techniques that can be used immediately on any project
  • Become aware of the critical factors that will influence project success
  • Used practical, group-based exercises to reinforce and enhance the skills learned
  • Created work breakdown structures, network diagrams, critical path analysis, Gantt charts and other techniques that ensure robust project control
  • Understood how to apply these tools and techniques to projects of different shapes and sizes
  • Appreciated the fundamental principles of a well-led and well directed project, such as identifying and scheduling tasks, activities, milestones and understanding and managing stakeholders

Applications are requested to be submitted by 5pm, Friday 18th September 2026.  Where this programme is over-subscribed, decisions will be made on the basis of projects which are of clear operational importance to your unit/UCC.
