UCC IEEE Student Branch
The first IEEE Student Branch (SB) was initiated at University College Cork (UCC) in November 2011, with Prof. Nabeel Riza being the Student Branch Counselor and Kilian O'Donoghue the newly elected Student Branch Chair. In April 2021, the Cork IEEE Student Branch was re-established by Prof. Padraig Cantillon-Murphy (Student Branch Counselor) and Marco Cavaliere (Student Branch Chair) and expanded to include Tyndall National Institute (TNI) students. Volunteers who played an active role in developing the Student Branch include Tim H. Fass, Ana Claudia Ferreira, Louise Colfer, Rose Marie Delaney, Cara-Lena Nies, Rita Mullins, and Anthony Wall. The SB has rapidly grown to more than 30 student members, regularly organising events and contributing to IEEE student member activities at UCC and TNI.
