Education and awareness play a crucial role in preventing sexual violence and harassment and fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive university community. The EDI Office is committed to providing students and staff with accessible information, resources and training opportunities that support understanding of consent, respectful relationships, bystander intervention and available support and reporting pathways.

UCC works in partnership with Active*Consent to provide students and staff with the evidenced-based education and training that empowers members of our campus community to contribute to a culture of respect, dignity and inclusion across the University.

Student Training Opportunities

Students can access information about consent, support services and reporting pathways through orientation programmes, class representative trainings, awareness events throughout semester and the EDI Office’s social media channels.

Students interested in expanding their knowledge and skills are encouraged to engage with the following training opportunities:

Staff Training Opportunities

UCC recognises the important role staff play in fostering a safe supportive environment for students and colleagues alike. Information on support services and reporting pathways may be provided through new staff orientation programmes, departmental communications and awareness events throughout the year.

Staff who wish to deepen their knowledge and confidence in responding to issues of sexual violence and harassment are encouraged to explore the following options:
