Early Years Researchers Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Award
Terms of Reference
For: Early Years Researchers
In cooperation with: UCC’s Research Office
Amount: €1,000/€500/€250 contribution towards research project (first, second & third prize)
Timeframe: Last academic year (i.e. Sept 2022 – Aug 2022)
Research focussed on or related to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 (Gender Equality) or SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and/or related to any or all of the Equal Status Grounds* will be particularly welcome.
Indicative Criteria
Outstanding EDIB-related work in research through any/all of below (but not exclusively):
- Choice of research topic
- Engagement with minority communities
- Reviewing research through and EDIB lens
- Identification of how own research can benefit minority/under-represented groups
- Research impact
And:
- Prepare a poster for display in the Dora Allman Room on November 9th
- Do a 3-minute soapbox oral presentation at lunchtime on the same day
Submission will be by self-nomination by researcher or member of research team. The entire team must consent to being nominated. The nominee must be considered an early-years researcher.
Decisions will be made by the panel based on three areas:
- the proposal submitted in the application form,
- the poster, and
- the three-minute soapbox pitch on the 9th November
