MPT Kiddo 2025
Date: 11 January 2025 - 26 April 2025
About the Course - MPT Kiddo
Munster Programming Training (MPT) has been running very successfully for the past 18 years and is now extremely popular. This course is targeted at 11 to 12-year-olds in the Munster region.
This programme is designed for fifth and sixth-class primary school pupils who have an interest in technology, puzzles, and solving logical problems. They should be enthusiastic about learning how games and applications are programmed.
Students are not required to have any prior knowledge of Computer Programming as it will start at a fundamental level.
Topics covered: Video Production (6 weeks), App Inventor (5 weeks), Scratch (5 weeks).
Programme Details
Time: Saturday mornings from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm beginning on 11 Jan 2025.
Venue: UCC's Western Gateway Building, Western Road.
Fee: €250 per student for 16 weeks.

Step 1: Make a payment via UCC Online Shop
Please note that there are two payment options available: PayPal or Debit/Credit card. You don't need to have a PayPal account to make a course payment.

Step 2: Fill Out the Registration Form
It's important to make a payment before registering to secure your place. Our MPT programmes are highly sought-after with limited availability, and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Step 3: Confirmation email
Your child's place in the programme is confirmed once you have completed the booking and registration steps. Shortly after making a payment, you will receive a confirmation email from the UCC Shop.

MPT Senior 2024-25
Date: 9 November 2024-31 May 2025
About the Course - MPT Senior Cycle Pupils
Munster Programming Training (MPT) has been running very successfully for the past 18 years and is now extremely popular. This course is targeted at 15 to 18-year-olds from the Munster region.
The aim of this programme is to offer training in Python programming, web design & scripting, web gaming and video production.
The programme will provide students with:
1. An introduction to Python programming, web design & scripting (HTML5, JavaScript), Minecraft programming, and digital content production.
2. An interest in computers by encouraging young students to learn about programming at an early age.
3. Learning computer programming with Python and how web applications and games are developed.
Students should have a strong aptitude for maths and a genuine interest in computers/programming.
Programme Details
Time: Saturday mornings from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm beginning on 9 November 2024.
Venue: UCC's Western Gateway Building, Western Road, UCC
Fee: €350 per student for 27 weeks.
MPT Coding for Girls 2024-25
Date: 9 November 2024-22 February 2025
About the Course - MPT Coding for Girls, Senior Cycle Pupils
This course is designed for female students, seeking to enhance their computing programming skills in a supportive environment, with the aim of honing their abilities for potential participation in National and International Olympiads.
The aim of this programme is to offer training in Python programming and problem-solving.
An aptitude for maths and a genuine interest in computers/programming are essential. While some prior experience is preferred, it is not essential.
Programme Details
Time: Saturday mornings from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm beginning on 9 November 2024.
Venue: UCC's Western Gateway Building, Western Road
Fee: €250 per student for 14 weeks.
MPT Junior 2024-25
Date: 9 November 2024-1 March 2025
About the Course - MPT Junior - Sold Out
This course is targeted at 13 to 14-year-olds in the Munster region.
The aim of this programme is to offer training in web design, web gaming and video production.
The programme will provide students with:
1. An introduction to web design, Minecraft gaming and creative design.
2. An interest in computers by encouraging young students to learn about programming at an early age.
3. Learning how web-based games and applications are programmed and having fun programming at home.
Students should possess a strong math aptitude and a genuine interest in programming.
Programme Details
Time: Saturday mornings from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm beginning on 9 Nov 2024.
Venue: UCC's Western Gateway Building, Western Road
Fee: €250 per student for 15 weeks.
