    Rabobank Ireland announced today that it is sponsoring the Rabobank Ireland 2012 Scholarship to the MBS in Co-operative and Social Enterprise. The scholarship has been set up to recognise and celebrate the 2012 UN International Year of the Co-operative.

    Minister launches new book on credit unions

    The Irish credit union movement is celebrated in a recently published book, edited by academics from the Centre for Co-operative Studies and the Department of Geography, University College Cork.  The book was launched by Jimmy Deenihan, T.D., Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, on 2ndDecember 2011 in the headquarters of IRD Duhallow, Newmarket, Co. Cork.

    Centre for Co-operative Studies/Rabobank Event held in UCC

    A public lecture co-hosted by Rabobank Ireland Plc  and the Centre for Co-operative Studies  was held in UCC on the 11th May. Professor Michael Ward, Director of the Centre,  chaired the event, which had as its keynote speaker Dr. Adrie Zwanenberg, a PhD graduate of the Department of Food Business & Development, UCC and currently Managing Director of Investor Relations for the Rabobank Group.

    The annual UCC Credit Union Summer School took place on Friday 1st April 2011. The theme of this year’s event was ‘Credit Union Stabilisation and Liquidity’ and featured Prof. Donal McKillop of Queen’s University Belfast, David Kielty of the Central Bank, Kevin Johnston, CEO of the Credit Union Development Association and Mark Bailey, President of the Irish League of Credit Unions.
