Dr Brian Healey Bird is a Consultant Medical Oncologist in Bon Secours Cork and Senior Lecturer in Clinical Education in University College Cork. He specialises in treating Gastrointestinal and Lung Cancers as well as Lymphoma. Fascinated by the immune system, his current research project in collaboration with APC into immune checkpoint inhibitor biomarkers is a result of his many collaborations with researchers from Cancer Research @UCC. He is site Principal Investigator for many Cancer Trials Ireland studies and has supervised many UCC Final Med student projects leading to publications and awards for his mentees. He serves on the Committee of Lymphoma Forum of Ireland as Education Lead. He forces himself to write papers when unable to bicycle, capsize dinghies, or plant flowers.
