Ciarán graduated from University College Cork with degrees in Zoology, Genetics and a Masters in Molecular Cell Biology. Ciarán is a PhD student under Professor Mark Tangney, working with the Microbes and Cancer group in Cancer Research @UCC. His research is focused on how the gut microbiome affects treatment outcome in cancer patients undergoing checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy.
