South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital

The Masters degree in Audiology has a close collaborative relationship with the tertiary referral regional Department of Otolaryngology and Audiology in the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital.

As well as clinical placements, students will have clinical teaching and lecturing from the Chief Clinical Audiologist in the Hospital, the Chief Physiotherapist and expert in Vestibular Rehabilitation along with a Consultant Otological Surgeon. Students will attend Vestibular Clinics and will have access to the Vestibular Function Lab. Training in microscopic examination and toilet of the ear will also be made available.

Students on this course will be offered a unique opportunity to attend the Outpatient department in Otology and see at first hand diseases of the ear in the acute and chronic setting.  As Clinical Specialists in Training, students will also be invited to attend live operating sessions which will enhance their understanding of common otological procedures and further broaden their knowledge of specific diseases of the external, middle and inner ear.
