Pilot Course

The GREEN-TRIALS Pilot Course will adapt the content developed within the curriculum for postgraduate students in medicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, and other healthcare disciplines. Delivered as an online course preliminarily in fall of 2027, it will provide participants with both theoretical foundations and practical insights into integrating sustainability principles into the design and methodology of clinical trials, supporting the development of greener and more environmentally responsible clinical research.

The pilot course will serve to evaluate and refine the curriculum by gathering feedback from participants with an academic or early professional background in clinical research.

Educator Training Course

The GREEN-TRIALS Educator Training Course is designed for clinical trialists, university teachers, and professionals interested in becoming educators or facilitators of the GREEN-TRIALS curriculum. The course will prepare participants to effectively deliver educational content that connects clinical trial design and methodology with principles of sustainability and greener clinical research.

Through this training, participants will gain both subject-matter knowledge and teaching methodology skills needed to support the implementation of the curriculum. Trained educators will form a network of experts capable of assisting institutions with the adoption of the GREEN-TRIALS curriculum, providing guidance on both the content related to sustainable clinical trials and effective educational approaches.

The educator training course is planned as a 1-day event at the end of 2028.

Workshops

The GREEN-TRIALS workshop will adapt the content developed for the online curriculum to professionals already involved in clinical research. This one-day workshop will provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical tools to integrate sustainability principles into clinical trial design and methodology, supporting the development of greener and more environmentally responsible clinical studies.

Two pilot workshops are planned within the project to ensure that the developed curriculum and workshop format effectively address the needs of the clinical research community and support the harmonisation of clinical trial methodology with sustainability practices. The first will be held in the Ireland at the end of 2027 and the second in France in mid-2028.
