FOODPATH Poster Presentation at the 2026 College of Medicine and Health Conference.
The UCC College of Medicine and Health (CoMH) Research Conference 2026 took place earlier this month. Dr Margaret Steele from FOODPATH presented a poster on the city level food policy evaluations.
The Food Policy Research Hub was pleased to be represented at the UCC College of Medicine and Health annual research conference, Advancing Health: Translating Discovery to Care, held at the Western Gateway Building on 2nd September. Dr Margaret Steele presented a poster titled "Assessing city-level food policies and their potential impact on health inequalities in Cork City, Ireland. The poster showcased the city level food policy evaluation conducted in conjunction with our FOODPATH colleagues at Wageningen University (WUR) in the Netherlands and the Medical University of Silesia (SUM) in Poland . The full results are expected to be published within the coming months. The policy evaluation study was conducted by Dr Steele together with Professor Janas Harrington, Research Assistants Nora O'Connor and Kristen Peralta Herrera and Safefood Ireland research intern Daniel Foran. The conference was a great reminder of how lucky we are to be part of such a thriving and diverse research culture in the College of Medicine and Health.
