The Food Policy Research Hub (FPRH) attend the Mary Robinson Centre Climate and Nature Conference.

28 Jul 2026

The FPRH was delighted to collaborate with UCC's Sustainability Academy to present a workshop at the Mary Robinson Centre Climate and Nature Conference  in Ballina, Co Mayo in July 2026.

Our workshop, Food Partnerships as Meitheal: Mapping Collective Action through Systems Thinking, was co-facilitated by Margaret Steele (FPRH postdoc), and Denise Cahill (WHO Healthy Cities Coordinator for Cork and member of the Cork Food Policy Council) together with Ana Ozolina and Paul Bolger of the Sustainability Academy. The session brought together growers, community health workers, educators and other stakeholders from across Ireland and beyond. Using a World Café style discussion, we explored what it would mean to build a food meitheal in Ireland today and, more importantly, how we can do it. We look forward to building on this collaboration both within UCC and with local and national food partners and partnerships.
