Annual Meeting of the Early Career Network of the ERA4Health Partnership.
On the 12th and 13th of March, the Annual Meeting of the Early Career Network of the ERA4Health Partnership was held in Brussels, Belgium. Four FOODPATH early-career researchers (ECRs) were present, including Evita van Duin, Nieke Sonneveld, Klaudia Alcer, and Nora O'Connor.
The first day started with a welcome event and lunch, followed by ice-breaker activities. In the afternoon, each project presented its consortium's progress to date, recent findings, and next steps. All present FOODPATH ECRs gave updates on their relevant work packages to other HealthEquity projects. In the afternoon, a social activity was arranged, a city walk around Brussels, where the ECRs were split into groups with those from different projects. This was followed by dinner, during which new groups of people were formed. This gave all the researchers time to network and meet people from various ERA4Health Projects.
On the second day, there were two training sessions. ECRs were split between "Successful presentation of scientific project results" and "How to stand out with your poster." The rest of the day included discussing upcoming Early Career Network plans, including a video competition, training sessions, and a mentorship program. Overall, the trip was a great way for FOODPATH's ECRs to meet face-to-face, outside of Team's calls, and to learn about the progress of other research groups. All FOODPATH researchers look forward to having the opportunity to meet again soon.
