Past Event: The EU's Geopolitical Autonomy and Citizens' Rights

Join us on Friday 18th November 2022 for this on-line Seminar 'The EU's Geopolitical Autonomy and Citizens' Rights'. This seminar will examine the European Union’s role in global rights issue in the context of the rapidly shifting international political environment of the 2020s. 

The seminar will address issues such as the place of human rights in EU foreign policy, the challenges the EU faces in promoting human rights globally, the impact of the rise of authoritarian great powers (in particular, China and Russia) on the EU as a human rights actor, rights in the context of the EU’s economic relations with third countries, and the widening global rights agenda (including, for example, rights in the digital/technology sphere and rights as relate to climate change).
