The team are happy to present the Duck-Feed Project today at the BioEconomy Research Symposium.

The research symposium is part of BioEconomy Week Ireland, which started today. Delegates gathered at the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine’s (DAFM) in Celbridge, Co. Kildare for the event.

Minister of State Martin Heydon delivered the opening address, formally launching BioEconomy Ireland Week 2022. Prof. Marcel Jansen was delighted to present the DAFM-funded Duck-Feed Project to a varied audience, with representatives of industry, higher education, policymakers, as well as other research groups. He outlined the new, interdisciplinary project, which aims to develop duckweed as a novel protein source for Ireland, with cultivation based on the principles of a circular economy, whereby waste is a novel resource.
