ENTIRE Deliver EU AI Act Training Course
May 2nd saw the ENTIRE European Digital Innovation Hub through UCC's School of Computer Science & IT deliver the "AI Literacy and the AI Act: From AI, to Ethics, to Regulation' workshop. The workship was a resounding success, with over 80 participants in attendance onsite & online.
This comprehensive one-day skills development course equipped attendees with crucial knowledge across the AI landscape:
1.Foundational understanding of artificial intelligence concepts
2.Core principles of machine learning
3.Practical approaches to evaluating AI systems (robustness, performance, fairness, bias)
4.Ethical frameworks for AI development and the Seven Key Requirements for Trustworthy AI
5.Detailed overview of the EU AI Act and its implications
6.Introduction to the Assessment List for Trustworthy AI
After completing this course, participants gained a solid appreciation for AI system principles and understood how ethical frameworks have shaped the AI Act. Attendees also achieved a basic level of AI literacy sufficient to assess AI systems against the Seven Key Requirements for Trustworthy AI that underpin the AI Act.
