About the [Un]conference

a conforming bending of the knee to an insufficiently contested neoutilitarian mediocrity” President Higgins (2018) voicing concerns regarding neoliberalism in Irish higher education.

Rooted in critical, decolonial and feminist thinking, this cross-disciplinary gathering invites us to reimagine education as a site of resistance and transformation, by:

  • Bringing educators and students together in a non-hierarchical, collaborative, and open space.

  • Inviting diverse disciplinary perspectives to support connection and dialogue across practices, experiences, and communities.

  • Collectively interrogating existing teaching and learning practices in relation to colonial legacies, neoliberal hierarchies and market-driven curricula.

  • Engaging with rhizomatic thought and plural forms of knowledge and expression using dialogical, reflexive, and creative methods.

  • Co-creating critical pedagogical praxis opportunities that are ethical, embodied, and inclusive.
