How might hauntings help us imagine radical social change?

Haunted Futures explores spectrality as a way of challenging dominant capitalist and imperialist relationships to time, history, and place. In the late-capitalist Anthropocene, hauntings can become powerful sites for imagining other futures and amplifying marginalised and exploited identities—human and otherwise. This year’s conference focuses on Spaces in Crisis, exploring the relationship between haunted buildings, locations, environments, and the histories—human and non-human—that shape them.
