Strengthening leadership for a Sustainable Future, Co-op Directors complete ICOS UCC Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business)

Twenty-four farmer directors and business leaders from Irish co-operatives have successfully completed the UCC 2023-2024 Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business). The programme is delivered by the Food Industry Training Unit (FITU) UCC in partnership with ICOS Skillnet, the professional development and training division of the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society (ICOS). Dr Bridget Carroll, Centre for Co-operative Studies, UCC is academic director. Co-operative participants include farmer directors of Arrabawn, Aurivo, Bandon, Barryroe, Dairygold, Drinagh, Kerry, Lakeland Dairies, Lisavaird, Tirlán, and Templemore Mart.
The Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) is a Management Development Programme for co-operative board members and senior management. This innovative programme was developed by the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society and University College Cork and is designed to address the special needs of co-operative board members and senior management in a rapidly changing agri-business environment.
