FiRe Up: Financial Readiness for Life launches in UCC

1 Apr 2026

FiRe Up: Financial Readiness for Life course and research study launches in UCC. The course is free for all UCC students to take part in. The course aims to improve students financial knowledge and wellbeing.

FiRe Up: Financial Readiness for Life is an online course that helps students develop practical financial life skills to support them through college and into future employment. The course was developed by ATU and MABS, and is currently being licensed to UCC with support from the UCC Alumni Fund. Launching during Global Money Week 2026, students can sign up for this free online course via Canvas

Money and money management can be an emotive subject, we aim to provide you with knowledge and skills that can help you to manage your money now and into the future.

Students can take the 90 minute free digital course to help increase their financial knowledge, behaviors and confidence, and we are asking them to take a short survey before and after the course to help contribute to research on this topic.

Please contact AJ Nagle at 119411154@umail.ucc.ie or Prof Olive McCarthy at o.mccarthy@ucc.ie for any further information.

FiRe Up is funded in part thanks to the philanthropic support of alumni, friends, and staff of University College Cork. Learn more at ucc.ie/en/advancement/support/alumnifund.
