Our Purpose
The Office of the Vice-President for Learning and Teaching (OVPLT) champions excellence in learning and teaching across UCC, supporting both staff and students to thrive. Through leadership and collaboration, OVPLT enhances the student experience, promotes effective and inclusive teaching practices, and drives continuous improvement in teaching and learning in higher education.
Staff are supported by OVPLT through provision of professional development programmes and training, funding opportunities, teaching awards and policy guidance, while students benefit from initiatives that strengthen learning, skills development, employability, digital literacy and lifelong learning.
Working through our units, Adult Continuing Education (ACE), Centre for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL), Centre for Digital Education (CDE), Career Services, Skills Centre, UCC Library and Cork University Press (CUP), the OVPLT helps create a vibrant, student-centred learning community.
