Ms Elizabeth Noonan, Director of Quality Enhancement, was invited by the University of Trieste to give a keynote on the occasion of its European University Alliance Conference,  ‘Inno-Methods 2023 for Quality Curricula’, which took place from 25th - 27th September, at the University of Trieste.  The aim of the conference was for the Transform 4 Europe alliance members to share existing quality enhancement and educational practices and to explore innovative strategies and solutions. The event hosted experts from Higher Education institutions across Europe, offering the opportunity to engage with Key-note speakers, roundtable discussions and workshops.

Ms Noonan was a guest speaker during the conference, delivering a presentation entitled 'Quality Assurance and Innovative Teaching: Competing or Complementary Activities?'. This paper demonstrated the reciprocally beneficial impact of activities within both functional areas through the discussion of three flagship initiatives pursued by the QEU. These included the ongoing development of student engagement practices in quality processes, the celebration of good practices across the institution and the positive outcomes from the recent thematic review of Workplace Learning. Overall, the conference emphasised the pivotal role of innovative teaching approaches and quality assurance in shaping the future of higher education.
