The Cardiovascular and Platelet Research group investigates the mechanisms of heart disease, blood vessel function and platelet biology, with the aim of developing new treatments to protect the heart, prevent clot formation and improve patient outcomes. Our researchers explore innovative therapies, imaging techniques and fundamental biology to advance cardiovascular medicine.

Dr Roisin Kelly- Laubscher: Development of novel agents for cardioprotection in drug induced cardiotoxicity and myocardial infarction.
Dr Gerardene Murphy-Meade: Platelet function in health and disease states.
Professor David Kerins: Anti-platelet and anti-thrombotic therapy, vascular biology with a particular focus on the renin-angiotensin and fibrinolytic pathways, and non-invasive cardiac imaging.
