5G Lan Testbed
Description
To facilitate the adoption of 5G in industrial networks, 3GPP introduced a new 5G feature called 5G LAN-type service in Release 16. The 5G LAN-type service aims to support similar functionalities of Local Area Networks, but on top of the 5G network. As a result, 5G LAN-type service would be expected to offer UE-to-UE communication with ultra-low latency, which is attractive for localised industrial control settings. The UCC testbed provides a platform for exploring challenging aspects of 5G LAN-service design and implementation.

Internet of Things testbed
Description
The IoT testbed comprises of a large number of embedded sensing devices with different low power communication technologies including Bluetooth, IEEE802.15.4, LoRa and NB-IoT/LTE-M. We also have a number of Raspberry Pi devices from a RPi version 1 to RPi version 5. The testbed includes several electronic prototyping kits with sensors and actuators that can be attached to embedded devices. The testbed also includes an ultrasound and Bluetooth beacon based indoor localisation systems. We also have a number of programmable robots sporting Nvidia Jetson boards to support AI functions.
