Our Dental School & Hospital is hosting a Free Online Event - Engaging Minds, Empowering Success in the Clinical Dental Environment' on Saturday, February 17th

Congratulations to our Dental School and Hospital on the recent news that UCC is ranked 51-75 in the Shanghai Rankings for 2023 in Dentistry & Oral Sciences.

It is UCC’s Top ranked subject in this set of subject rankings, arguably the most prestigious of the subject rankings, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) published in November 2023.

Dentistry & Oral Sciences at UCC is ranked joint-first in Ireland with TCD.

These rankings are decided upon using five objective indicators including: influential publications in academic journals, the citation levels of these publications, international academic collaborations, work featuring in top Dentistry and Oral Science journals as well as staff winning awards and field medals in the subject area in the recent past.

Dean of Dental School and Hospital UCC Professor Paul Brady said: “the rankings are a testament to the quality of the student experience at Cork University Dental School and Hospital. They are a reflection of all the hard work of our teaching and support staff”.

Head of College of Medicine and Health Professor Helen Whelton said she is delighted to see the excellent Shanghai University rankings. “In addition to providing excellent and highly regarded training for our students the Dental team at the Dental School and Hospital provide direct care and referring care for patients across the southern half of the country”.

Professor Paul Brady said he and his team are currently undertaking a curriculum review “of our Bachelor in Dental Surgery Programme embracing new technologies. We were delighted last year to introduce an Electronic Patient Record System call Salud.  It is a great benefit to patients and students making clinical records and information more accessible and secure”.
