University College Cork Humanities Platform
The UCC Humanities Platform supports the acquisition of primary source material to enhance the research capacity of the Boole Library.
Purchase of the Mallow Estate Papers
The major purchase is the Mallow Estate Papers.
These are the extensive archive left by the
Jephson Family who ran Mallow and its vicinity from the time of the
Munster plantation until the breakup of the great estates with the Land
Acts. This purchase consolidates the Boole Library’s strength in
estate papers from former Cork ascendancy families.
Donation of Taoiseach Jack Lynch's Personal Papers
This considerable and unique collection was entrusted to Professor Dermot Keogh by the Lynch family. Professor Keogh generously donated the Personal Papers of
Taoiseach Jack Lynch to Special Collections, Boole Library. The Papers span Lynch's time in office and contain material dealing with his meetings with Edward Heath, the Troubles in Northern Ireland and the Arms Trials. This historically significant collection represents an important addition to the holdings of the Boole Library.
