“Compressed biomethane generated from grass used as a transport fuel”.

This project requires a senior Post Doc for an 18 month period, to produce an academic report in collaboration with Teagasc (Agricultural Research Centre) on the potential for grass as a feedstock for biomethane production for use as a transport fuel. The role will concentrate on the production process and the logistics of distribution of the gaseous fuel. The project starts December 2007/January 2008.

The role carries an initial salary of €54,729/a; is based in the Environmental Research Institute (http://www.ucc.ie/en/ERI/) under the supervision of Dr Jerry D Murphy (www.ucc.ie/serg/jerry.html). The biofuels research team will comprise a principle investigator, a senior Post Doc, three PhD students and three masters students.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Engineering (or in the area of anaerobic digestion or biofuels), have published extensively in the area of anaerobic digestion/biofuels and will have suitable post doctorate experience of production of academic papers/reports.
