Professorship in Energy Engineering

Professorship in Energy Engineering, College of Science, Engineering and Food Science

Applications are invited for this newly created post which will be a joint appointment in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.  These Departments attract outstanding undergraduate students, have very active post-graduate research programmes and have a proud tradition of producing graduate engineers who occupy leading positions in the profession and in industry.   A new B.E. (Energy Engineering) programme has been launched jointly by the two Departments this year.

The successful candidate will be expected to play a leadership role in the development of the energy research activities of the Departments and to grow post-graduate numbers and external research funding.  In addition s/he will be expected to lead the development of the discipline and contribute to teaching.

The remit of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) has been extended to include sustainable energy and energy-efficient technologies with an investment of €90 million envisaged over the period to 2013.

 Salary scale (new entrants):   €111,286 – €143,193  per annum
