The History Department at UCC has approximately 30 full-time and part-time teaching staff, and is one of the largest departments in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences in UCC. Undergraduate student numbers are large and growing, complemented by among the highest numbers of graduate research students in the College. The Department has a strong research and publication record.
Applications are invited for the Chair in Medieval History.Candidates will have a doctorate in History, a strong internationally recognised record of published research, teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels, and proven administrative ability.The successful candidate will further develop the Department’s established research and postgraduate teaching interests in the period before c.1200, within the area of Irish history, its insular and continental contexts, and the insular reception of the cultural legacy of Late Antiquity.
