School of Nursing and Midwifery

University College Cork (UCC) is a dynamic and rapidly expanding institution comprising some 2500 staff and approximately 17,000 students.The College of Medicine and Health, a foundation College of the University comprises of a School of Nursing and Midwifery, a School of Medicine, a School of Dentistry, a School of Therapies and a School of Pharmacy.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is rapidly developing and now offers programmes at BSc, MSc and PhD level education together with 12 clinical focused Postgraduate Diploma/MSc programmes.The BSc Nursing Degree offers four branches of study – general, psychiatric, intellectual disabilities and integrated children’s/general. The BSc Midwifery Degree programme commenced in 2006/07.Programmes are offered in collaboration with the Health Service Providers.

Applications are invited for this whole time permanent post.  The successful candidate will have a primary degree in Nursing and a PhD in Nursing or related discipline.  S/he must be registered with An Bord Altranais or deemed suitable for registration.Candidates should have a track record of excellence in nurse education and research.  The post holder will be expected to develop and lead a world class research programme as well as contributing to teaching, clinical practice development and administration.  Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a proven commitment to excellence in nursing and midwifery education.

Salary scales(new entrants):
Professor  €111,286 - €143,193 
Associate Professor€99,287 - €116,607
